Product Description

Silane Coupler G-550 (also known as 3-Aminopropyltriethoxysilane / γ-Aminopropyltriethoxysilane, APTES, CAS 919-30-2) is a colorless to pale-yellow transparent low-viscosity liquid with a characteristic amine odor. As a bifunctional amino-silane coupling agent, it carries a reactive primary amine group (–NH₂) on one end and three hydrolyzable ethoxy groups (–OC₂H₅) on the silicon atom, acting as a “molecular bridge” between organic polymer matrices and inorganic substrates. It delivers excellent adhesion promotion, filler dispersion, interfacial reinforcement and moisture resistance. Widely used as a coupling agent, adhesion promoter, surface primer and reactive modifier in fiber-reinforced composites, adhesives, sealants, coatings, foundry resins, electronics and advanced materials.

Glass Fiber Sizing & FRP Composites​ – Standard aminofunctional finish for glass-fiber rovings and mats in epoxy, polyester, vinyl ester and phenolic composites; significantly improves dry/wet interlaminar shear strength, flexural and compressive properties (aerospace, wind blade, marine, pipe & tank).
  2. Mineral Filler Surface Modification​ – Treatment of silica, fumed silica, wollastonite, kaolin, mica, talc, alumina trihydrate (ATH), magnesium hydroxide and quartz flour to enhance dispersion, compatibility and mechanical/electrical properties in PE, PP, PA, PBT, PC, epoxy and phenolic systems.
  3. Adhesives & Sealants​ – Reactive adhesion promoter in epoxy, polyurethane, phenolic, nitrile, RTV silicone and acrylic latex systems; boosts bond durability to glass, aluminum, steel, ceramics and engineered substrates under humidity and thermal cycling.
  4. Coatings & Inks​ – Additive/primer for epoxy, polyurethane, acrylic and electrostatic coatings to improve substrate wettability, corrosion resistance, water-boil resistance and pigment dispersion.
  5. Foundry & Abrasive Binders​ – Enhancer for resin-bonded silica sand, shell molding and grinding-wheel binders; increases mold strength, humidity resistance and dimensional stability.
  6. Electronics & Encapsulation​ – Primer and coupling layer for epoxy potting compounds, underfills, magnetic powders, PCB coatings and semiconductor encapsulants; improves interfacial reliability and moisture stability.
  7. Silicone Intermediates​ – Key raw material for synthesizing aminofunctional silicone oils, softeners and textile/leather finishing emulsions.
  8. Surface Functionalization & SAMs​ – Grafting agent for glass, silica, ITO, metals and nanoparticles to build amino-terminated self-assembled monolayers for biosensors, chromatography and catalysis.
  9. Energy & Battery Materials​ – Surface coating/coupling modifier for cathode active powders (NMC, LFP, etc.) and separator treatments to improve electrode adhesion, cycle life and slurry stability.
