Product Description

Silane Coupler G-570 (also known as γ-Methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane / 3-(Trimethoxysilyl)propyl Methacrylate, CAS 2530-85-0) is a clear, colorless to pale-yellow transparent low-viscosity liquid with a mild ester-like odor. As a bifunctional organosilane, it carries a polymerizable methacryloxy group on one end and three hydrolyzable methoxy groups on the other, enabling strong chemical bridging between organic polymer matrices (via radical cure, co-polymerization or grafting) and inorganic substrates (glass, metal, minerals, fillers) through silanol condensation. It delivers excellent adhesion promotion, moisture resistance, composite reinforcement and surface modification performance. Widely used as a coupling agent, adhesion promoter, reactive diluent and surface primer in fiber-reinforced composites, coatings, adhesives, sealants, wire & cable compounds and electronics encapsulation.

Key Applications:

  1. Fiber-Reinforced Composites​ – Glass-fiber sizing and roving treatment for unsaturated polyester, epoxy, vinyl ester and phenolic composites; greatly improves dry and wet-state mechanical strength, flexural modulus and electrical properties.
  2. Mineral-Filled Polymers​ – Surface modification of silica, fumed silica (white carbon black), talc, kaolin, mica, clay and calcium carbonate to enhance dispersion, compatibility and water resistance in PE, PP, PVC, PU and engineering plastics.
  3. Coatings & Paints​ – Adhesion promoter and reactive additive in UV-curable, acrylic, polyester and thermoset coatings for glass, metal, ceramic and mineral substrates; reduces shrinkage and improves scratch and weathering resistance.
  4. Adhesives & Sealants​ – Co-monomer or primer in acrylic, polyester, polyurethane and RTV systems to boost bond durability under humidity, thermal cycling and aging conditions.
  5. Wire & Cable Compounds​ – Treatment of clay- or mineral-filled peroxide-cured EPDM / EPM systems; lowers dielectric loss factor and improves wet electrical stability.
  6. Artificial Stone & Quartz​ – Strength and toughness enhancer for unsaturated polyester-based cultured marble, engineered quartz and decorative composites.
  7. Polymer Modification​ – Copolymerization with vinyl acetate, acrylic or methacrylic monomers to produce functional resins for adhesives, textiles, leather and construction chemicals.
  8. Electronics & Optoelectronics​ – Primer and coupling layer for encapsulants, underfills, optical fiber coatings and insulating oils to improve interfacial adhesion and long-term reliability.
  9. Foundry & Refractory Aids​ – Reduces resin demand in silica sand molds and improves shell strength and dimensional stability in precision casting.
